Sixes all round

This weekend saw some great foot ball in the Premiership with only being two games in it is too early to call who could go on to win as anything could happen due to injuries and good runs.

However this weekend showed that Chelsea are the team to beat after winning comfortably against Wigan 6-0.

Arsenal beat Blackpool 6-0 with a great show by Theo Walcott who showed that not going with England to the world cup could have been just what he needed.

The final 6-0 of the weekend was a great win for Newcastle who recorded their first win back in the premiership against Aston Villa.

Players struggling for teams

A number of players are struggling to find clubs to play for a good example of this include former Macclesfield player John Rooney and former Fulham player liam rosenior. Rosenior had a bright future holding down a regular spot at right back for Fulham however when he fell out the pecking order things use to get worse for the player with a move to reading then Ipswich now the player finds himself with no club and reports have seen him training in local parks to keep his fitness up seems he is currently on trial at Bristol City.

Also the John Rooney Waynes little brother deciding to leave Macclesfield to see if could find another club may be one bigger however he has not managed to find and attention and has been forced to try his look in America with trial for Seattle Sounders FC

French world cup team punished

Its been a tough time for the French national team which was clearly obvious during their time in trhe World Cup the team looked unsettled and reports where that none of the players had any confidence or respect for the previous coach Raymond Domenech, to be honest looking at the coaches body language during the tournament he looked as if he could not be bothered him self showing no emotion on the touch line.

During the tournament Anelka of Chelsea criticised the coach which led to him being sent home and causing turmoil with in the camp at a hearing yesterday a number of players received bans such as Anelka’s 18 game ban, Evras five game ban and Riberys three game ban.

Premiership opener 2010

This weekend marked the start of the English premier league with many teams looking to carry on from where they left off and others aiming for a much improved season.

The opening games brought a bit of everything from a shock win by Blackpool over Wigan with a 4-0 in their first game back in  the top flight in well over 10 years

Chelsea came of the blocks flying with a 6-0 thrashing over new boys West Brom which I am sure was a good welcome back for them after returning to the top flight after being relegated the previous season.

Red cards and own goals were also involved in the opening games.

Manchester United Win Charity Shield

Yesterday seen a great game of football for the neutral of the sport with the top two teams in the English premiership playing against each other for the charity shield.

This cup game is often seen as the final preseason game for the side just before the league starts again the following week and after weeks of preseason games and training Manchester United were going in to the game in the better form winning the majority of their pres season games in the United States where’s as for Chelsea this was their fifth successive defeat.

The game was exciting with both teams looking for the win but it was the class of united that led them on to win the shield with Scholes and the new kid Chicharito impressing.
