After months of waiting and hoping we have finally discovered which nations will host the 2018 and 2022 World Cup finals and unfortunately England lost out.
The result astonished the England bid team which included David Beckham, Prince William and Prime Minister David Cameron. Their £15m proposal was beaten by a less superior bid made by Russia which will again arouse suspicions of bribery.
Rumours of back hand dealings are more than likely to rise due to the fact that England could only secure two votes and were therefore knocker out in the first round of voting.
It looks like these investigations and allegations made against FIFA members by the Sunday Times and BBC Panorama could have seriously damaged the bid. Although the purpose of the investigations was to highlight the corruption within football’s governing body.

This Thursday sees the long awaited vote to decide which nation will host the 2018 & 2022 World Cups.
England will be bidding for the right to host the 2018 competition along with Russia and Joint bids from Spain/Portugal and Holland/Belgium.
The location of the 2022 will be chosen from either the USA, Qatar, South Korea, Japan and Australia.

England have an excellent bid due to the fact that the infrastructure to host the event is already in place. However, recent reports from the British media have implied that bribery amongst certain lobbyists has taken place.

These revelations could result in either England not receiving the vote due to such corruption or because it’s the Country’s own media ruining the proceedings with such allegations.

Lets hope that these reports don’t ruin our chances and that football will come home.

England manager Fabio Capello is due back in London today for showdown talks with current England captain John Terry. Terry, the serial womaniser has recently been the subject of a massive media story surrounding his affair with England colleague and former Chelsea team mate Wayne Bridge’s ex girlfriend Vanessa Perroncel. Perroncel is also mother of Bridge’s son, now 3 years old. Bridge now plays for Manchester City.

Chelsea and England captain Terry is alleged to have had an affair with Perroncel. The allegations are yet to be confirmed but Perroncel has held talks with publicist Max Clifford over dinner regarding the affair and her story is likely to be released soon.

Terry’s wife Toni Terry is currently in Dubai with their twins following the allegations. Capello is is keen to get crisis talks out of the way so he can concentrate on England’s build up to the World Cup in South Africa this summer.
