Stars benched

With all the money being spent by the big clubs and Manchester City this season bringing in more fire power you would expect to see some amazing demonstrations of how to effectively and attack and destroy ones opposition.

Real Madrid have been drawing in their fans and sold season tickets well in advance to showcase their  Galactico’s and haven’t disappointed, other teams have managed to display the players they bought. However Manchester City spent clearly more than any other team squandering the GDP of a small European country in a summer and have their stars in physio!!

Their long suffering fan and now disillusioned base must be gutted. Spending a fortune on season tickets with no stars to see for what could be half a season unless they count the troll Tevez and GBH specialist Adebayor as  stars!

Sparky give us a wave, Sparky, Sparky give us a wave!!

Fantasy Football

How is your team doing?  Are your super stars turning out to be sub standard?

Come the start of the season like all red blooded males (not just because I’m a Manchester United fan!!) I was excited in having something to look forward to come the weekend as well as Match of the Day returning to our TV screens.

The excitement of the transfer window also increased the hype and anticipation of the various fantasy football games. Like most I chose my players based on last season’s performance but I’ve been let down a bit. Stephen Ireland to name one has been pants so far, so TRANSFER I think.

But hey, were not even half way through yet so it’s all good!

Forwards to buy in Pro Evo 2009 season 7 Master League

And here we come to the conclusion of a three part posting for absolute heroes of the Pro Evo Master League seasons into the game.

Forwards

  • Messi, of Barcelona-Forget what you know of Henry and Etoo, they do not even compare to the likes of the little Lionel when his stats improve rapidly in 2012 making him one of the greatest most agile centre forwards in the game. Be wary of his shot power though, always put that little extra on the shot due to this attribute being a little under par.
  • Benzema, of Olympique Lyon-The man of the decade by far, will not miss any header, strength, stamina and devastating shot accuracy to boot. He is the man for the job, centralised he can manoeuvre through defenders without loosing the ball!
  • Pato, of Inter Milan, the Brazilian makes his mark, and mark my words does he, look past the microphone haircut which is just deceptive-he is your right hand man.

Get these guys and top player setting is not enough.

Tevez…..You Dog-Head

I’m not a bitter United Fan that wallows in the fact that we lost him, I’’ve always thought that this guy has a head from a Dog, unfortunate events he may have endured, but how has his neck become that circumference?

So why must I bring this untouched upon topic about you ask, reason is because I’d like to discuss the five players I’d like to knock out, in no particular order of course.

  • Tevez – Got the post title, I’d hit him with a lead bar and he would probably look prettier
  • Martin Keown – Oh dear, just one of those heads you want to see after you’ve had 10 pints of Stella on a night out. This dirt doesn’t even play anymore and he still needs doing in
  • Ray Parlour – Looks too much like Simply Red to me, there’s only one Mick so sorry Ray, you have to go.
  • Paul Merson – Lets face it Arsenals 99 season team all needed K.O. time so we’ll round off this list with…….
  • Tony Adams – Did he have a drink before every game the Booze’o or was it the razor that kept getting stolen, have a shave you tool.

And there you have it, welcome to add your own knock out time list, managers are included if you want a go!

Mid-fielders to buy in Pro Evo 2009 season 7

As mentioned in an earlier post, we discussed the quality of defenders to purchase when in the master league mode of the game.

Midfielders

  • Juan-Mata, originally of Valencia this left footed superstar excels to attributes of over 90 on all midfielder requirements
  • Nani – of Manchester United, peaks at the age of 26 but average of 94 in all areas where you need them in the mid section of the field
  • Zarate – of Lazio, really is a support striker but this guy gets better and better through the seasons and doesn’t stop scoring, attributes of around 90 but plays fantastically.
  • Sergio Aguero, of Athletico Madrid, ends up being the one of the top 5 fastest accelerating, top speed, shot power and accuracy rolled into one machine. You won’t miss with this on the inside right.

Tune in soon for the strikers post.

Players to buy in you 2015-2016 Pro Evo Master League

Here you go as promised I mentioned the list of players to buy inside the master league when you’re a number of seasons into the game. For me-I’m in the 2015-2016 season.

I have a hat full of players which have developed nicely into absolute superstars over the years.

Defenders

  • Bos – Made up guy goes so sick its unbelievable even good at shooting
  • Bradley – Amazing centre back – shot power of 98 – oh my
  • Chiellini – Amazing, probably one of the best defenders

If you have these guys your defence will be unstoppable, really-you only need 3 at the back they’re so good.

Tune in soon to see my list of midfield players which develop into the future

Smashing the Master League in Pro Evolution

Pro Evolution soccer or otherwise known as Winning Eleven (11) in Japan is the ultimate football game when it comes to playability, there is dispute between Pro Evo and FIFA. For me there is no contest Pro Evo takes the biscuit with the way the game is played.

I’m not getting into which is better as that would be opening a can of worms that is best left well alone

What I am getting at is the Master League inside the game, usually played single player or co-operatively against the AI. I am referring to the 2008/2009 version as the new game for the 2009/2010 season is to be released soon.

Smashed your master league in too badly on top player and you’ve brought De Graffschap to the Premiership with Oost and Den Ouden as your forwards on top player-hats off to you. I’ve got the definitive list of guys to buy when you’re soooo many seasons into the game…….

Elano Seals Move To Galatasaray

Brazilian attacking midfielder Elano has sealed his £8 million deal to Turkish club Galatasaray after finding his chances of a 1st team place diminish since the recent incomings at Eastland’s. It seems that with the signing of Gareth Barry that Elano’s place in the side became far from certain, and this has led him to seek more regular football.

It became increasingly likely that Elano would leave when Mark Hughes took over at City, preferring other more complete midfield players such as Stephen Ireland, and too be fair that proved to be a good decision!

The reported disruptiveness of Elano in the squad will doubtless have had a bearing on Hughes’s decision to let him go, also his inconsistent performances last season will be another major factor. His style doesn’t exactly suit Mark Hughes’s type of player; too often he goes missing in matches and doesn’t do his bit for the team. Players such as Stephen Ireland and Gareth Barry on the other hand are much more to Hughes’s liking

Liverpool re-structure debt

Liverpool have struck a deal with one of their banks (The Royal Bank of Scotland) to re-structure the debt owed to them, they also owe money to another unnamed bank. The £290 million debt with RBS has been re-structured after owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett agreed to pay back £60 million. The overall debt is a massive £350 million, that must surely worry Liverpool fans!

The problems Liverpool could encounter all depends on when RBS and the other bank require the money to be paid back, but clearly there is some level of urgency otherwise the re-structuring wouldn’t have happened. It seems Liverpool need to sort this mess out and get some sort of financial stability, otherwise severe consequences could occur. It looks like a big multibillion dollar owner is what Liverpool need, and with the stature of the club you would think they would be an attractive option to somebody out there, still the debt will be a put off.

McCarthy chooses Wigan

Hamilton young prodigy James McCarthy has decided to sign for Wigan after competition from Celtic, Tottenham, Portsmouth and Burnley for the Irishman’s signature. McCarthy broke into the Hamilton side at the tender age of only 15 years and became their youngest ever goalscorer at only 16 years and 55 days.

He is highly thought of in Scotland and has clearly made an impression on the watching English scouts. It is though that the fee is for an intial £1.2 million rising to £3 million depending on performance.

It is thought that Hamilton are happy with Wigan having purchased their young star due to the promise from Roberto Martinez that he will be playing regularly, they also believe that he will be well looked after by the Lancashire club.
